LINE has implemented AI chat

And no, not the sort where you get to chat with your dream waifu. Rather you can now give Line the ability for AI to analyse your private conversations, and have it suggest replies on your behalf.
To do this it has added an "AI" icon button into the typed text window of every regular chat you have, meaning you get less real estate for actual words to be typed. While you can choose to not use it, you cannot disable the icon. But that's fair, why have space for typing when you're not going to be typing anymore?
I for one welcome our chat bot overlords. No longer will I be dragged into the mundane task of actually chatting with friends. What a hassle that was.
edit: Apologies, I forgot an important point - If you want to use the service, it'll cost you 750 Japonaise shmeckles a month.

All I know is it’s annoying. I don’t understand what it means. I looked it up in the urban dictionary and I’m still not sure. I’m not even that old? I’m 24! Slang just changes so fast.
Top Comment: They’re address a fake “chat” as if they’re a twitch streamer. It’s how twitch streamers address their audience - the live chat.

Top Comment: Probably just creating a customGPT for my job search, got me a $35k/yr raise and a much better position. I have it trained on a 20 page resume of all previous jobs and everything I did at those jobs (I used chatgpt to flesh it out with questions like, list job duties for position X and then edited to make sure it was accurate). I then have the instructions such that if I paste in a job description it will immediately do a job fit analysis to let me know if it is worth pursuing or not based on my experience. If so, I just type "yes" and it then creates a tailored 1 page resume and cover letter for the position in the tone that I like. I can then just cut and paste that info into my existing resume template and I am ready to apply. Tends to take me less than 15 minutes to apply for jobs. Doing crazier stuff with it at work now, but still working on that.
Endorsement level 3 to even use match chat is an insane change

Most people don’t even endorse after games and limiting a basic game feature behind an arbitrary system that doesn’t reflect much is insane. Half the lobby can’t even type in match chat which makes games feel empty and devoid of any interaction.

am i the only one who loves reading chat while watching streams??

i saw a comment on a twitch stream clip posted to tiktok asking something like "why cover the chat?" and someone responded saying "we come to watch the stream not read chat" that got heavily ratiod.
its not a huge deal of course, but i love reading chat and seeing their reactions when something happens. it feels like a community and makes the stream more lively. hell, ill rewind a crazy or funny m,oment just to read the chats reactions/opinions
i honeslty really dislike when i see clips of streams posted online and you cant see the chat at all, its only zoomed into the streamers webcam, and its like 90% of clips that get posted. am i the only one who feels this way??
Top Comment: I don't think the point of clips are to highlight what the chat says, but more what happened and/or the streamer's reaction. So I understand why chat is not included in short form videos and others. But I do also love reading chat when watching live. If I wanted to just watch gameplay, I would watch youtube videos. The main reason I enjoy watching streamers on twitch is to watch and interact with chat as well.

What is the point of the “Chat” function if there is a “direct message” function between users on reddit ? What is the difference between both? I just use reddit for commenting on random posts.

Reddit is so confusing, why is there a “chat” tab and a notifications tab that sometimes may show DM’s if reddit is supposed to be about users posting a post under subreddits so that users can discuss about the post?
Top Comment: Communities are the main focus, yes. But sometimes you may want to communicate privately with someone. Making friends, group chats, mod team group chats, etc Chat is a bit like IMs, it's more synchronous communication and you can do it with a group. Or in the case of community chat channels, with other members of a community. PMs are a bit more akin to emails, they're more asynchronous and only with one person except in the case of talking with a mod team via modmail.
How do i use the reddit chat?

Im using reddit via opera for its VPN and for some reason when i try to chat with someone it just tells me to download the reddit app.
